was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings
to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."
 

         And so begins the tale of Rand al'Thor, Matrim Cauthon, and Perrin Aybara, three ta'veren, all born in the small town of Emond's Field no more than a few weeks apart. As ta'veren, these three can affect the weave of the Pattern and ultimately alter the Web of Destiny. That is an awful lot to be expected of two farmboys and a blacksmith's apprentice.
